CBD & Sex

CBD and THC are the main chemical compounds found in cannabis plants.

Unlike THC, CBD does not produce a psychoactive “high” and can be therapeutic, helping to alleviate pain and relax the body, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Once isolated, CBD can be infused into oils, lotions & lubricants for sex to enhance pleasure and “give an exquisite sensitivity”- especially for women.

The vagina, like other bodily cavities (lips, nose, anus, lungs) is lined with mucous membranes that moisten and protect the inside of the body from toxins. These membranes, along with the vulva skin are highly absorbent.

When applied, CBD lubricants and oils can help increase blood flow to the area, enhancing sensation and natural lubrication as well as reducing pain and discomfort.

CBD also helps in calming the body, minimizing anxiety and boosting one’s mood, which is important when it comes to enjoying sex.

CBD products are also perfectly legal in the US. The 2018 Farm Bill made hemp and hemp-derived CBD federally legal, though some states have their own regulations.

A recent survey of more than 200 (cannabis using) women & men found that nearly 60% said cannabis increased their desire for sex; almost 74% reported increased sexual satisfaction,” but further research is needed to confirm a lot of the findings.

According to the NYT, “the research is thin…but anecdotal evidence suggests that the right dose of cannabis can make a woman’s orgasms more satisfying and increase sex drive.”
